Anhui Forges Ahead | Feidong: The Hot Secrets of a "Constant-Temperature Little Giant"

In the sweltering heat of summer, Anhui Ringray Electric Heating Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "Ringray Electric Heating") in Feidong District, Hefei City, is abuzz with intense activity.

Amid the hum of machinery in the factory, what runs "hot" is not high temperature, but the swift-moving "belts" on the production lines.

"This is our high-performance self-regulating electric heating tape," said Ji Chengzhi, founder and chairman of Ringray Electric Heating. "At the start of this year, we achieved mass production of products with a temperature resistance rating of 260°C, injecting new impetus into our surging order growth."

What is a high-performance self-regulating electric heating tape? Ji Chengzhi explained: "When powered on, the heating tape itself generates heat. Its resistance increases as the ambient temperature rises, and the output power automatically attenuates, thus maintaining a constant temperature within a set range."

"At the end of last year, our 110°C temperature-resistant electric heating tapes were successfully applied to the Fuxing CR450 EMU. They ensure the normal operation of water tanks, drainage pipes and other equipment when the train travels in frigid regions, significantly reducing safety risks," Ji said with pride.

Thanks to their precise temperature control characteristics, self-regulating electric heating tapes have been widely used in petrochemical engineering, high-speed rail, infrastructure and other fields. They act as a "safety belt" for industrial development across key economic sectors. Forging this "safety belt" has taken Ringray Electric Heating more than a decade of research and development.

"Before 2014, the heat resistance of domestic electric heating materials generally stood at 85°C. Core materials were monopolized by foreign countries, and China’s electric heating industry was concentrated in the low-end market," Ji Chengzhi recalled. "We were unwilling to stay at this level forever and resolved to make a breakthrough."

In 2014, Ji Chengzhi set a new corporate mission for Ringray Electric Heating: "Replace imported products with independent technologies, and serve global industries with Chinese solutions." Starting that year, the company focused resources on R&D, formed an Anhui Provincial "115" Industrial Innovation Team through industry-university-research integration, and established a postdoctoral research station and an engineering technology research center for high-performance self-regulating electric heating tapes.

Technological R&D is fraught with challenges, yet perseverance leads to success.

In 2018, Ringray Electric Heating achieved major breakthroughs in key areas including electric heating material design and development, production and testing processes, and thermal control system solution design, successfully realizing domestic substitution. Its electric heating products were fully upgraded, and the company transitioned from single-product sales to an EPC (full-process service) model covering design, production, installation and after-sales service.

In 2023, Ringray’s 200°C high-performance self-regulating products entered full mass production. Powered by new products and technologies, the company broke the foreign monopoly in the high-end market and won its first bid in the framework tender for electric heating materials of China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

In 2025, the mass-produced high-performance self-regulating products of Ringray Electric Heating reached a temperature resistance rating of 260°C. This marks that Ringray has matched current international leading standards in the field of self-regulating electric heating materials.

Technology is the voice of tech enterprises. To date, Ringray Electric Heating has been granted 1 international invention patent and 16 domestic invention patents, built a digital workshop, and obtained national CNAS laboratory accreditation for its testing center, realizing full-chain quality control from raw materials to finished products.

Meanwhile, the company has passed global authoritative certifications including Russia’s EAC, EU CE, France’s BV and Canada’s CSA. As a representative of Chinese enterprises, Ringray has provided high-quality electric heating products, services and solutions to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide, including Russia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Finland and Brazil.

The "booming" scene at Ringray Electric Heating epitomizes Feidong District’s efforts to promote high-quality enterprise development.

At the end of 2023, Feidong District issued Several Policies for Promoting High-Quality Economic Development in Feidong District, tailored to local realities and focused on boosting the growth of sci-tech enterprises. The policy lays out specific arrangements in six areas: encouraging scientific and technological innovation, expanding effective investment, stimulating consumption and circulation, increasing financial support, supporting enterprises to grow stronger, and optimizing the business environment.

Ringray Electric Heating’s growth aligns perfectly with Feidong’s vision for high-quality economic development.

With assistance from the Feidong District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the company has successively earned titles such as a National Specialized, Sophisticated, Unique and New "Little Giant" Enterprise (awarded by MIIT), Anhui Provincial Manufacturing Champion Cultivation Enterprise, Anhui Provincial Service-Oriented Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprise, and Anhui Provincial Innovative (Pilot) Enterprise. It has also successfully obtained qualifications including Anhui Provincial Digital Workshop, Anhui Provincial Industrial Design Center, Anhui Provincial Industrial Quality Product and Anhui Provincial New Product.

In terms of financial support, over the past three years, the Feidong District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology has provided Ringray Electric Heating with 1.224 million yuan in funding through high-quality development policies, including 224,000 yuan in loan interest discounts, effectively reducing the company’s financing costs and empowering its development with tangible financial support.

"Next, we will focus on key industrial layout, take leading enterprises as the driving force, encourage enterprises to increase independent innovation, and promote the cluster development of upstream and downstream industrial chains to push Feidong’s industries to new heights," said Ye Shaofei, Deputy Director of the Feidong District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.

Statistics show that in the past three years, Feidong District has allocated a total of 10.58 million yuan in rewards and subsidies for the construction of technology centers and industrial design centers to 66 enterprises; issued 14.15 million yuan in subsidies for brand cultivation, specialized, sophisticated, unique and new development, and new product R&D to 105 enterprises; and provided over 53 million yuan in loan interest discounts to 357 enterprises.
