Liaohe Petrochemical Company of PetroChina Company Limited was founded on July 23, 2001 and is affiliated to China National Petroleum Corporation. Its predecessor was Liaohe General Petrochemical Plant constructed in 1970. As a characteristic refining and chemical enterprise of PetroChina focusing on processing heavy oil and extra-heavy oil, the company boasts a crude oil processing capacity of 5.5 million tons per year, and has built three major production bases for low-sulfur marine fuel oil, high-grade asphalt and naphthenic lubricating oil.
